The Survivor 50 age breakdown is raising eyebrows — Especially the oldest and youngest player contestant

A new season of Survivor has arrived it brings about a welcome change from many recent seasons.

Due to the nature of the show featuring only returning players, the Survivor cast is one of the most diverse casts we’ve seen in seasons with players of all ages coming together. In fact, for the first time, it’s actually the players in their 20s and early 30s who are in the minority when it comes to ages.

It’s a refreshing change and one that is going to really level out the playing field, eliminating a trend we’ve seen in many recent seasons in which most older contestants tend to be sent home early. Part of what always makes the game of Survivor fun is seeing the unique social dynamics between the cast, and the show suffers when the players who make it the furthest are all from the same age demographic.

The oldest Survivor 50 cast member is Cirie Fields

Many fans might be surprised to learn that the oldest player in the Survivor 50 cast is not one of the players who played the game in the first two seasons, but a player who didn’t even head to the island until season 12! While Jenna Lewis-Dougherty and Colby Donaldson played in the first and second season, respectively, which aired more than 20 years ago, it’s Cirie Fields who is the oldest player in the game at 55.

The Survivor 50 cast actually features a really diverse group of players in the age demographics and there are actually five players over 50 in the cast this season: Benjamin “Coach” Wade (53), Chrissy Hofbeck (54), Colby (51), Mike White (54), and Cirie (55).

The youngest Survivor 50 cast member is Rizo Velovic

Interestingly, while there are typically a lot of younger players in the mix every season of Survivor, the Survivor 50 cast only has three players in their 20s. The youngest contestant in season 50 is Survivor 49’s Rizo Velovic who is only 26, making him only a year older than the game of Survivor itself which is an insane fact.

The only other players this season who are in their 20s are Survivor 46 star Charlie Davis and Survivor 45 star Dee Valladares. There are many players competing this season who are in their 30s, but it’s going to be interesting to see how Charlie and Rizo’s status as the youngest players in the game might help or harm their game. There is a chance we’ll see the pair underestimated due to their younger age, but that lack of experience could also be their downfall!

Angelina Keeley age now vs in her first season

Playing as part of the Survivor 50 cast Angelina Keeley is 35 years old, making her a few years older than when she first played the game. Angelina’s first appearance came in season 37, Survivor: David vs. Goliath, and at the time she was 28 years old.

Aubry Bracco age now vs in her first season

Aubry Bracco first played the game in Survivor: Kaôh Rōng (season 32) when she was 29 years old. Ten years later, Aubry plays Survivor 50 at the age of 39.

Benjamin “Coach” Wade age now vs in his first season

Benjamin “Coach” Wade is one of the oldest members of the Survivor 50 cast at 53 years old. Whne he first played the game back in Survivor: Tocantins (season 18), he was over 15 years younger and played the game at the age of 37.

Charlie Davis age now vs in his first season

As a more recent player, there isn’t a big age difference between when Charlie Davis played his first season of Survivor versus the 50th season. Charlie was 26 when he played in Survivor 46, and is listed as being 27 at the time of Survivor 50.

Chrissy Hofbeck age now vs in her first season

When Chrissy first played the game in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers she was 46. Season 35 aired about a decade ago putting Chrissy at 54 in Survivor 50.

Christian Hubicki age now vs in his first season

When Christian Hubicki first competed on Survivor: David vs. Goliath (season 37), he was 32 years old and quickly became a fan-favorite underdog. Now 39 in season 50, he returns with seven more years of life experience.

Cirie Fields age now vs in her first season

Cirie Fields might be the oldest contestant in season 50 at 55 years old, but when she first played the game years ago it was a completely different story. Cirie was just 35 when she made her debut on Survivor: Panama — Exile Island (season 12), launching one of the most beloved journeys in the show’s history.

Colby Donaldson age now vs in his first season

Colby Donaldson was 26 years old when he played in Survivor: The Australian Outback (season 2). Now 51, he returns to Season 50 with 25 more years of life experience and is about twice as old as the youngest player in the game, Rizo.
