Oh My God!! Emmerdale fans fear Jacob is going to take his own life as bullying intensifies
Things have reached crisis point for Jacob Sugden in Emmerdale this week after he got so stressed by Dr Todd he crashed his car into Cain Dingle.
With Dr Todd’s bullying intensifying, Emmerdale fans are getting seriously concerned. They are worried Jacob might end up trying to take his own life as he struggles to cope.
Jacob hits rock bottom in Emmerdale
On Tuesday night (April 7) Cain was knocked down by a speeding car. He was left bloody and unconscious in the road. It was revealed Jacob had run him down.
It came after a furious row with Dr Todd. Jacob had given CPR to her dad who was DNR. She had accused Jacob of assault and sent him home telling him he was useless, he wouldn’t complete his training and he’d never become a doctor.
Hysterical Jacob was pushed to breaking point and should not have been behind the wheel. Fortunately Cain told the police he stepped out in front of the car, absolving Jacob of any blame.
Sarah was not so forgiving, even accusing Jacob of trying to do Cain in on purpose. He tried to explain how stressed he was but Sarah was sick of hearing it.
She was even angrier when they were told Cain’s scheduled prostate operation had to be postponed until he was fully healed. Sarah raged that she would never forgive Jacob if the cancer spread and this cost Cain his life.
Todd overheard Jacob and Sarah arguing and offered a listening ear. But when he suggested she’d got him so upset after saying he would never be a doctor that it caused the crash, Todd hit back that he was too sensitive and insisted she was not responsible for what happened after their altercation.
Dr Todd’s plan revealed
Spoilers for next week have now revealed Dr Todd is not just targeting Jacob with nasty words and threats, she’s actually building a file against him. He has no idea she’s recording an audio log so she can accuse Jacob of obsessive behaviour.
Things get even worse when Dr Todd moves in with Vanessa. Now she’s everywhere – at work and at home.
But the manipulations are only just getting started. In the pub later she starts to plant the seed of Jacob’s obsession with her to Manpreet. Of course Manpreet falls for it hook line and sinker. So it seems Jacob has more trauma to face ahead.
Fans fear Jacob will take his own life in Emmerdale
All of this has led fans to be seriously worried about Jacob. It’s clear he’s not up to the job, but is that because of the pressure of Todd’s bullying or the pressure of medicine overall being too much for him.
“The poor boy will end up wanting to [take his own life], that’s a lot for anyone to cope with,” said one viewer on social media.
“Could well happen considering the pressure he’s under and his mental health is really suffering,” someone replied.
Someone else said: “I heard that the suicide rates in young doctors in the UK and other countries has reached a high in recent years and now I’m wondering if a certain Emmerdale storyline is going in that direction.”
A further user replied: “This thought crossed my mind too about Jacob.”
