Back in January, worlds collided as ITV aired a soap crossover event called Corriedale. The history-making episode saw residents from Coronation Street and Emmerdale in huge danger as they found themselves involved in a multi-vehicle pile up.
Within the instalment, a new character called Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) was introduced. She was tied up in the back of a van that was being driven by Emmerdale’s Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).
Fans absolutely reeled in shock as they discovered Graham had returned from the dead. At the time, everyone was under the impression that Graham had been killed by a man called Pierce Harris way back in 2020.
Jodie managed to escape Graham’s van due to the chaos of the massive RTA, and because Graham spotted Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) injured within the crowd.
We learnt more about Graham faking his death during a series of flashback episodes that detailed what happened to Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) before he was killed. It was confirmed that Graham had gone to the village prior to Corriedale because he had heard about April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) being in danger of Ray and Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).
Graham confirmed to Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) that he faked his death because he had found out about Kim Tate (Claire King) hiring a hitman to have him murdered.
Wanting to also protect Rhona, Graham asked for help from corrupt officials, and successfully managed to let everyone believe that Pierce had killed him.
Graham is now back in Emmerdale permanently, while escapee Jodie Ramsey is busy causing trouble in Weatherfield. Their paths haven’t crossed since then, which means we’re still waiting to find the exact details as to why Jodie was in the back of Graham’s van.
The character has given us a very small insight into this situation after getting attacked by a member of a gang.
Graham told Rhona that the beating happened because of his failure to ‘end’ Jodie. He was hired by someone to get rid of her and because Graham failed to succeed in this, he faced a violent punishment.

Now settled back into his role as Graham Foster, actor Andrew Scarborough has been pondering over his character’s connection to Jodie, and has confirmed we will eventually discover more about the people who asked Graham to get rid of the troublesome woman.
‘It’s still all to come out. I think there’s been a bit of confusion. He wasn’t going to kill her. That wasn’t the job. He was taking her to somebody, then he realised this person was bad, so he sort of let her go. He had no intention of killing her’, he said.
‘I think you do find out bits, and later on you’ll find out a bit more about the guys and who they were. But it was a good mechanism to get Graham back and cause a bit of intrigue. Hopefully it will resolve.’
‘You’d have to ask both of them. I’m not in cahoots with Corrie, so I don’t know’, he added when asked if we’d get our answers in an episode of Coronation Street or Emmerdale.

‘Graham was paid to get her by a guy. He was probably told a lot of bunkum, because he did choose his jobs, which is why he tried to say to Rhona that he was working for a guy, then found out that this guy, who was powerful and rich, was not a nice guy. So, he thought this girl was bad.
‘That was the insinuation, anyway. This girl was bad, so he was taking her, but then he found out that, actually, this guy who’s told me to take this bad girl is very bad, so I’m not going to do that, so I’ll let her go. I think that was the way it was meant to come across.’
This of course means Graham’s enemy is still at large, which is going to be revisited in the future.
‘I think you’ll find out quite soon. There’s a repercussion. An action. You still don’t find out much about this chap, so hopefully that will come out at some point as well.’
Next week, Graham turns his attention to a troubled young member of the Emmerdale community.
Graham tries to help Kyle (Picture: ITV)
After working out that Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) is the farm firestarter, Graham takes the boy under his wing and tries to help him.
‘I think it’s that vulnerability of being lost’, Andrew said, explaining why Graham decides to try and get Kyle back on the right track.
