Survivor 52 is already making noise before the cast even fully settles into the game, and a tiny early detail from Fiji is enough to have fans talking for all the wrong reasons.

There is always a buzz around a new Survivor season, especially when it proves the franchise still has plenty of life left.

Fans just watched Aubry Bracco take the win on Survivor 50, with Jonathan Young finishing second and Joe Hunter claiming third place.

And even as that finale was airing on CBS, the producers were already moving quickly behind the scenes to get the next installments underway.

As previously reported by Tea on TV, Survivor 51 has already wrapped filming and is set to arrive on CBS this fall.

Survivor 52 has already started filming

“BREAKING 🚨 Survivor season 52 has started filming in Fiji! In 26 days time we will have another winner crowned! #Survivor50 #Survivor #RealityTV #TheTribeHasSpoken #news” reads a new Instagram post.

The same post also says the season features an all-new cast made up entirely of first-time players.

That alone was enough to catch people off guard, mainly because Season 50 has only just finished airing for CBS viewers.

Of course, the timeline makes more sense once you remember that Season 50 was filmed last June, long before the episodes actually reached the audience.

A small spoiler about Survivor 52

One early spoiler suggests the new season is heading back to the familiar three-tribe structure. That is the setup many fans know well, and it was also part of the huge cast experience in Season 50.

Still, there had been chatter that Season 51 might open with a two-tribe format instead, and that rumor has gone over especially well with viewers. A smaller tribe count can shake up the strategy fast, create bigger alliance battles, and remove some of the luck factor from the opening phase.

“Unfortunately it looks like Survivor 52 is back to three tribes (but at least it’s a new color scheme),” reads an Instagram Story showing an image from Fiji.

The good news for color fans is that the season appears to feature a lighter palette. The less exciting part: the three-tribe setup seems to be back. Of course, there is still a tiny chance this is only a three-team challenge snapshot — and not the full game layout. Fans can always hope.
