They are picking caterers, a cake, a dress, and sending out invitations. But not everything is going smoothly. Baylen’s mom, Julie, is worried about the wedding venue. She feels the location may cause problems for guests.

Julie says the venue is very far from the nearest international airport, about two hours away. She also points out that it sits atop a mountain. This means guests will need shuttles to reach it. Julie feels Baylen is not fully listening to these concerns.

Baylen Out Loud: Baylen Dupree Recalls Heartbreaking Moment Neurologist Told Her -“You Don’t Belong In Society!”

Baylen Out Loud star Baylen Dupree has opened up about a heartbreaking experience from the early days of her Tourette syndrome diagnosis. While appearing on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, she recalled her early Tourette’s experience, how her neurologist harshly retracted his diagnosis, after her symptoms became severe.

Baylen said that her Tourette’s syndrome got so bad that all of her doctors took her diagnosis away. She explained that the doctor later told her, “I have no idea what you have, but you don’t belong in society. You don’t belong in college, you shouldn’t get a job, you shouldn’t work, you shouldn’t drive.”

Baylen’s Tourette’s diagnosis came in 2020. During COVID, her tics and symptoms got worse, which led to the heartbreaking incident with her then-neurologist. The family learned that he wasn’t a tourette’s specialist, which he did not disclose in the beginning.

Thankfully, Baylen visited the Mayo Clinic, which confirmed she had Tourette’s. But the heartbreaking neurologist encounter still lives in her brain. This points to the medical negligence of practitioners who, instead of offering support, harshly judge an already confused and worried patient.

Baylen, despite the discouraging words, worked hard to find the right doctors. Now, she has a massive following and a reality TV show. She also uses her platforms to spread awareness around Tourette’s. The 23-year-old motivates people with Tourette’s to stop hiding and live a happy, meaningful life with Tourette’s.
