Boston Rob & Amber
It has now been more than 20 years since Rob Mariano and Amber Mariano (née Brkich) met on Season 8 of Survivor and fell in love. Since then, Rob, who hosts The Traitors Official Podcast, has remained a familiar face in reality TV, while Amber has kept life steady at their home in Florida and supported him from afar.
Rob says it is “miraculous and seamless” the way Amber manages their household running despite his packed schedule. The pair shares four daughters, and Rob says his wife “has that other gear” that makes her such an exceptional mother.
“I’ve known that about her since I met her,” he tells Swooon. “One of the first things I remember was I thought in my brain that she would be a really good mother because she’s so caring and so nurturing.”
Rob also praises his wife for “balancing it all,” and laughs, “She kind of has five children because I don’t ever want to grow up. She lets me run around and do what I need to do. Maybe sometimes that’s why it works so well … because she needs a break from me. Like, go do what you need to do!”

In 2020, Rob and Amber both returned to Survivor to compete on the Winners at War season and had the chance to bring their daughters into the experience. All four girls visited their mom and dad during the loved ones’ visit in Fiji.
And while they are still years away from being old enough to play Survivor, Rob says he “could make a case and tell you why each of them would be good” at the game. Still, he admits their youngest daughter, Adelina, now 11, may be the one best suited for it.
“She was probably seven at the time, and we were playing Clue,” he shares. “And she made an advanced move where she pulled a double bluff. I did a double take, I looked at Amber, like, ‘Do you know what she just did?!’ [Adelina’s] eyes got so big, the biggest smile. I go, ‘Do you know?’ She goes, ‘Yeah, yeah, I told you this, so you would think this.’ It was super impressive at seven years old to be able to have the forethought to think several moves in advance. All of my kids, I think they’d all be good, they’d all bring something to the table, but Adelina has that killer instinct.”
We will not be seeing her on the show for at least “another 10 years,” though, because “I’m not letting her out there at 18,” Rob confirms. “She needs some life experience, too.”
