Shocking ‘Survivor’ Update has fans talking, as there are now just nine players left in the game on Season 50 of Survivor — and one of them is Season 42 alum Jonathan Young. Four years after his last appearance, Jonathan says he has sharpened the strategic side of his game and, so far, hasn’t received a single vote against him at tribal council.

On his previous Survivor run, Jonathan came within reach of the finish line, making it to the final four before being sent home after losing the fire-making challenge to eventual runner-up Mike Turner.

As the outcome of Season 50 is still unfolding, Swooon took a closer look at his life away from the game. So, is Jonathan in a relationship? Here’s everything we know.

Does Jonathan Young have a girlfriend?

At this point, Jonathan does not appear to have a girlfriend. Although he has not publicly confirmed his relationship status, there is no sign of a significant other on his social media, and he has never openly said that he is dating anyone.

What was Jonathan Young accused of on Survivor 42?

During Season 42, Jonathan was accused of not treating women well on the show. Those accusations came from winner Maryanne Oketch, along with Lindsay Dolashewich, who finished in fifth place.

“To put it in a quick sentence, Jonathan’s a misogynist. Or at least it felt that way on the island,” Lindsay told Entertainment Weekly after she was voted out. “I’m not someone who’s going to be talked to that way in real life. In real life, I would never have accepted being spoken to that way for myself or anybody else that I would’ve seen that happen [to], but it’s a social game so you really can’t say that. In my mind, that was very infuriating internally for me.”

Lindsay and Jonathan were actually close at the beginning of the game, but she said she began to see his “true colors” around Day 5.

“At that point, I started noticing [things], but I was thinking, “Oh, maybe he is under fed. Maybe it’s just because I’m a very outspoken person. He’s very alpha. Maybe it’s because I’m kind of alpha too,’” Lindsay recalled. “And then as time went on, I started being able to gather like, “OK, this is a trend that I notice.” So no, that was under my skin for a while.”
