Survivor 50 Shock: How Savannah and Her Boyfriend Braced for Another Sudden Separation

Survivor 50 fans: what can you pack into nine days at home when the show calls you back to Fiji? For Savannah Louie, the answer was more than quick goodbyes — it was dozens of love letters, last-minute self-care, and a strategic sprint to reconnect before another abrupt departure.

What To Know

  • After winning Survivor 49, Savannah Louie had only nine days at home with partner Brandon Stiles before returning to film Survivor 50 in Fiji.
  • She prepared both emotionally and practically — writing 30+ love letters (some with gifts), squeezing in therapy and massages, and spending focused time with loved ones.
  • Savannah was voted out early in Survivor 50 (the third elimination overall), ending her short second run on the show.

Savannah Louie won Survivor 49 and, within a day, accepted an invitation to return for Survivor 50. That rapid turnaround left her with just nine days in Georgia before she was back in Fiji — a brief window to rest, regroup and prepare for another separation from everyday life and from her partner, Brandon Stiles.

Savannah, who started dating Brandon in May 2024, explained on social media how they used those nine days. In a January 2026 TikTok, the Atlanta news broadcaster revealed she had written more than 30 love letters for Brandon to open while she was disconnected on the island — some included small gifts and personal notes meant to sustain him while she competed.

“It was honestly so hard, those nine days,” Savannah told us. “It’s a balance of, OK, I want to spend time with my people, but I also need to take care of myself. I need to get the massages. I need to go see the therapist a few times. There’s so much that I felt like I needed to do in that tiny span of time.”

She described carving the days into two tracks: quality time with Brandon, family FaceTimes, and the small rituals that helped “fill her cup,” plus practical recovery from the physical toll of the game. Savannah emphasized the importance of trusted people after returning from a competitive environment: “You need people who you genuinely trust and who are always going to have your best interests at heart, versus a bunch of strangers who are competing against you for $1 million.”

Her second run on Survivor was brief. Savannah lasted six days on Survivor 50 and became the third boot of the season after a move led by veteran player Cirie Fields. To protect a top ally, Cirie argued that Savannah — a recent winner whose game hadn’t yet been seen by this season’s cast — was a logical choice for elimination. Savannah had also concealed an advantage she won in a challenge against Colby Donaldson, but that advantage did not keep her in the game.

For now, Savannah’s Survivor journey is over — though she remains candid about her love for the show and the realities of balancing personal life with an unpredictable broadcast schedule.
