Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans is getting a fresh twist from CBS. And for the second time this season, the network is making a major move that has fans talking about what could be coming next for Survivor 50.
Survivor 50 episode 10, “A Side Dish of Chaos,” will air in its regular slot on Wednesday, April 28, at 8 p.m. ET. But this won’t be a standard 90-minute episode — CBS is stretching it to two full hours, meaning it will run from 8 to 10 p.m. ET instead of the usual 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET window.

“A Side Dish of Chaos” – One castaway comes clean to the tribe about a previously deceptive move. The crowd favorite SURVIVOR auction returns, with an extra special season 50 spin. Chaos ensues when social media icon MrBeast arrives on the scene, on SURVIVOR 50, Wednesday, April 29 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) Photo: Robert Voets/CBS ©2025 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
That’s a notable shift. So far, the only Survivor 50 episodes to go beyond 90 minutes were the season premiere, which ended with two players being eliminated, and the Blood Moon twist, which sent three players home.
Could this be another night where two contestants are voted out? It’s certainly possible. There are still 10 players left, and the season needs to be down to five or six by the time the finale arrives just three episodes from now.
Here’s the synopsis for the episode:

MrBeast arrives in Survivor 50 episode 10
CBS has now confirmed that Survivor 50 episode 10 is the MrBeast episode fans have been anticipating ever since the first preview for the season dropped. After Jeff Probst appeared on an episode of Beast Games season 2, Jimmy Donaldson — better known as MrBeast — is bringing a special briefcase to the Survivor 50 auction, which also takes place during this episode.
At the auction, Probst describes the briefcase as a “MrBeast Super Beware Advantage.” It sounds like the players will be bidding on it, but if they fail whatever challenge comes with it, what’s the penalty? Could someone be instantly eliminated? The stakes may be higher than fans expect.
We still don’t know exactly what MrBeast has planned, but let’s hope it lands better than a spearfish cookout or a Jimmy Fallon disadvantage.
It’s also possible the extended runtime has less to do with a double elimination and more to do with the amount of story CBS wants to fit in. Between the challenge, Tribal Council, the auction, and a special guest appearance, there’s a lot to squeeze into a regular episode.
Another possibility is that the network is adjusting the edit after reports of backlash over Zac Brown’s appearance on Survivor 50, which reportedly gave the country star the bulk of the screen time.
We’ll find out how it all plays out on Wednesday, April 28 — but one thing is certain: fans should clear extra time for Survivor this week.
