If you’re going to make a celebrity guest appearance on Survivor 50, do it the MrBeast way: short, sharp, and game-changing. Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson helped Jeff Probst pull off one of the most dramatic twists in Survivor history, delivering a long-awaited change fans have wanted for years — but never actually saw happen. Warning: Spoilers for Survivor 50 Episode 10 ahead!
This episode packed in plenty of classic Survivor chaos: the auction, letters from home, frantic strategy before tribal council, and one very messy live tribal. MrBeast showed up during the auction to announce a brand-new Super Beware Advantage would be played at tribal council, with the full details kept under wraps until then. Before that, Zac Brown, Billie Eilish, and Jimmy Fallon have all made an impact on the game to mixed-to-frustrated reactions from fans.
At tribal — and before the Beast Games host even arrived — Rick Devens aired out everyone’s secrets by revealing the vote plans he had heard, then made a pitch to the players who were in danger. Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick tried to counter after he exposed her moves, but the tribe wasn’t convinced. That was only the first half of the live tribal — and then came the MrBeast twist.
Donaldson arrived with his signature branded briefcase, and Probst laid out the twist. A gold coin would decide everything: one player would call heads or tails. If they guessed correctly, they would be safe from elimination, receive an immunity idol, and, for the first time ever, the Survivor prize money would jump to $2 million. If they lost, the prize stayed at $1 million, the vote would be canceled, and the coin flipper would be eliminated and sent to the jury.

Devens had already revealed his fake idol strategy to the entire tribe earlier in the episode. With nothing to lose — and even less after exposing Stephenie’s alliance’s vote plan — he volunteered for the coin toss, and the tribe let him take the chance. He won, securing the first-ever $2 million Survivor prize.
With Devens safe, another live tribal kicked off and ended with Stephenie being voted out. Stephenie and Jonathan Young’s alliance had tried to push ahead by using Devens as a smokescreen for an Ozzy Lusth blindside.
Cirie Fields once again showed off her strategic and social influence by lining up the votes against Stephenie before tribal and making sure backup plans were in place. As a result, her alliance with Ozzy kept control of the game, and they still have a strong group of allies behind them.
With no former winners left on Survivor 50, every returning player is now chasing not just their first victory, but the very first $2 million prize in the show’s history.
